Chef's Choice 678 Cordless Electric Kettle

Boil water more quickly than a microwave for tea, coffee, hot chocolate or instant soup. Generous 2.0-quart capacity with an exterior water gauge for easy measuring. The powerful 1500 watt heating element is hidden beneath the stainless floor of the unit, so it’s never in contact with water, eliminating build-up of mineral deposits on it and allowing for easy clean-up. The revolutionary cordless electric tea kettle design allows the kettle to be lifted from its base for convenient filling and serving. (more…)

    Broke after 6 months
I got this kettle as a wedding present. It worked fine for about 6 months and then just stopped abruptly.

Base started melting after a year
We liked this product very much at first, but it has not stood the test of time. After about a year we started smelling a burnt plastic smell when we used it.

    Electric Tea Kettle
I’ve had electric tea kettles prior. I saw my cousin had this one and liked it. Went right home and looked it up on Amazon and purchased it. I don’t know how we lived without it.

    Chef’s Choice 678 a dissapoitment
After using the kettle for a few days, about 30% of the bottom outer edges started to corrode, wonder If could be returned or is it a common incident with this design.

Leaks! (As others have also said)
After 45 days of use, the kettle started leaking!! Leaving it sitting on the counter & there’s a steady drip-drip until in a few minutes there’s a large pool of water.

    beware of rust
I have used the kettle for about 1 year now and I loved it in the beginning. A few months ago I noticed rust on the inside bottom seam, which is very dissappointing considering…
